段英梅物件&影像互动作品作品总体概述

“过去15年,我去过很多国家,认识了很多人,经历了很多事。虽然认识了很多人,但我并不真正了解他们,经历过的事情也逐渐被遗忘。通过互动合作,我想更好地了解我的新老朋友,并在我们共同创作的艺术作品中留下点滴记忆。

在展览中,观众可以与物品进行互动。这些物品与屏幕上的视频相关联。视频涉及各种主题,是根据人们的故事和经历发展出来的。此外,每件作品旁边都有一张小纸条,以孩童般幽默的方式描述物品、物品的主人和他们之间的联系。

“I have been to various countries in the last 15 years, met many people and experienced different things, but I don’t really remember and have forgotten much. Through interactive collaboration, I would like to better understand my old and new friends and create some memories in our collaboration work.

In the exhibition the audience could interact with the objects of my collaborators. The objects were linked to the video on the screen. The videos related to a variety of topics and were developed based on people’s stories and experiences. In addition, next to each work was a small note written in a childlike and humorous way to describe the object, the owner and their connection. These notes were arranged next to the object and video.” 

2005年后,段英梅经常采取平等合作的创作方式。她给这种创作的定义是:「在平等的基础上与他人进行合作,每个合作者都是平等独立的创作主体。」

十多年间,段英梅完成了近百件合作作品; 她不仅与不同的艺术家进行平等合作,亦将这种创作关系延伸向社会大众这个群体之中——她会与不同的人展开对话,再共同发展出 ”平等合作” 作品。从这种 “平等合作” 方法中,她还开发了 “物件互动作品” 和 “物件&影像互动作品”。

在这类作品中,英梅试图在合作者、观众、物件与空间之间建立复杂的关系网,并带来互动。英梅选择了以对话和互动的方式来进行创作,只因她感受到现代社会中,人们正逐渐失去真正意义上的对话能力。

Since 2005, Yingmei has favored the method called “Equal Collaborative Performance”. To introduce this method, Yingmei explained that: “I collaborate with others on the basis of impartiality and people I work with are involved on equal terms.”

In the past decade, she has realized about a hundred collaborations with this “Equal Collaborative Performance” methodology. She not only collaborates with artists but also with the general public. Her practice begins with a conversation that evolves into “Equal Collaborative Performance” with collaborators. From this “Equal Collaborative Performance” method she also developed “Object Interactive Performance “ and “Object & Video Interactive Performance ”. 

In these projects Yingmei intends to construct an interactive network between participants, audiences, objects and surroundings in our daily life. She has chosen this particular form of interactive art to engage her audiences and for her deep concern towards individuals in contemporary society who have lost the ability to communicate with each other.
